Cosmorama

Cosmorama comprises an innovative research center and museum dedicated to the study of buildings in extreme climates.
Its name, derived from the Greek words Kosmos (world) and Orama (scene), aptly captures the project’s ambition to root architecture in material responsibility and environmental awareness. Designed for London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the project explores how excavation waste can be transformed into a primary building material. In alignment with this ethos, the architectural language incorporates local materials, mirroring the surrounding environment and fostering a harmonious relationship with the site. Cosmorama transcends the conventional ideas of a museum or research center, assuming the form of an ever-evolving landscape. It offers a space where architecture, research, and environmental stewardship intersect, inviting visitors to experience the fragility and force of natural systems while exploring new possibilities for building with what the ground gives back.
